Eye and Ear Camps

The rapid increase in life expectancy and the growing prevalence and incidence of vision threatening diseases and hearing impairments put millions at risk. According to the World Health Organization, about 285 million people are visually impaired worldwide: 39 million are blind, 246 million have low vision and more than 275 million people worldwide are deaf or hearing impaired. 80% of all visual impairment can be avoided or cured and a high percentage of hearing impairments can also be treated. We regularly set up eye and/or ear camps for our local communities to encourage the early detection and timely treatment of eye diseases, degeneration, appropriate treatments for low vision, hearing screenings, hearing impairment awareness campaigns and other projects for the deaf, hearing impaired and visually impaired community.
